Rainford Models have many years experience in building models of all types for advertising purposes.

It does not matter whether the models are life sized (as in the Jonathan Oakes tyre), made of brass (the Cheetham Bell gold floppy disk), used in a television commercial (the Buxton Wall computer) or even being photographed for billboard campaigns (the Norweb PCB) we give the same attention to detail to each and every model.

Shown below are a few representative samples of our work with pictures and a brief description of the technique used and the use the advertising model was put to.

Exploded Computer - Cheetham Bell
Marketing sales aid - Buxton Wall

Client: Cheetham Bell

Exploded Computer made from an actual computer, heat formed to create distorted panels.
Special split lines had to be machined in to create the correct distorted shapes.
This was a model for a photographic shoot to be used for invitations to a seminar.

This is a weight saving appearance block model machined from acrylic and ciba tool model board.

It was commissioned as a marketing sales aid due to the extreme weight of the real product

Pill - Creative-Lynx

This was a cosmetic face lift to an existing computer which was used in a television commercial featuring Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock from Star Trek).

Advertising campaign for a new drug.
The pill was hand carved from solid ciba tool the fuse was a slow burning de-thermalising fuse with a standard fireworks sparkler inserted down its length.

The side of a brand new tyre was removed, the life ring was machined and hand shaped from MDF spray painted and fitted back to the tyre. The car was carefully positioned and supported to take the shot.

Computer Circuit board - Norweb

The text was engraved post casting to maintain crisp edges with a clean machined finish to the bottom of the lettering whilst retaining the rough sand cast effect on the ingot.

Client: Norweb

This PCB  is made from scratch by hand. All the copper and silver tracks were cut out carefully  by hand.
All components were individually placed, fixed and named.
This photograph was used as part of a billboard advertising campaign around the north west of Manchester.
