Rainford Models have made hundreds of educational interactive models for museums, exhibitions and visitor centres across the world. Our in-house expertise and specialist equipment means that we can fabricate large museum interactives and interactive exhibits in a wide variety of materials and formats. We have made museum interactives for a variety of locations worldwide including Ciutat de les Arts I les Ciences in Valencia, the interactive areas at the Moscow Planetarium, as well as for Sellafield and Underwater Street in the UK. A few examples of the museum interactive models that we have made for those locations are shown in the links below. The above video shows a Glowing Rott’s Chaos Pendulum which was developed by Rainford Models Ltd in conjunction with Ian Russell of Interactive Science Ltd.
With the addition of a secondary smaller rotating arm we have managed to create even more Chaos!
Light gathering acrylic and UV lighting flashing at 50 times per second create a firework spoked wheel effect…… Brilliant!!
The whole thing is set in motion by twisting a single central knob.
It will shortly be on display at the Edinburgh Camera Obscura and World of Illusions.
